I love everything Patricia McLinn writes and this book certainly does not disappoint. Although it's part of the Wyoming Wildflowers series, this book is set in Boston. It gives an interesting insight into the lives of immigrants that is so much in the political spotlight today. The Irish immigrants of this time period were treated with dislike and distrust, but Cahill gets around all of that and manages to breach Eleanor' s defenses too. Patricia McLinn's books give us a reason to feel good about living in America. This book brings home that feeling through Cahill and his desire to make this country his home.
Enjoyed the series
This was an easy read and I enjoyed the book. Patricia McLinn is a new writer for me and I have really enjoyed reading her books.
I really enjoy Patricia McLinn's books but wouldn't recommend this one. It's okay but not as good as her others.
This is the second book I have read by this author and I plan to read more. I found her characters well rounded and fascinating. I could even hear the brogue in the Irishman's voice as I read. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a light read !
Cahill and El's story and where Valerie comes from was an extremely interesting read. I guess I love the backstories! Loved it!
The always practical Eleanor Thatcher has been disappointed by Dreamers her whole life. She does everything she can to avoid her growing attraction to the hunky dreamer Cahill McCrea who is saving her restaurant one Irish song at a time. When the INS is about to send Cahill back to Ireland, Eleanor comes up with a practical solution to keep him in the USA. Propose marriage?!
